Simulation of NH3 cracker

Challenge and Ambition

Ammonia is a potential candidate as a hydrogen carrier which can subsequently be used in a fuel cell to produce electricity. The ammonia cracking is a highly endothermic reaction which requires a careful reactor design to optimize heat transfer and catalyst usage.

Solution

resolvent has derived a kinetic expression that was included in a reactor model, with coupled flow field, cracking reaction, and heat balance, which can be used as a tool to evaluate reactor performance and heat distribution at different operating conditions.
